All your important mails under 2-3 labels and anything that doesn't fit can go into junk, this can be tried out. Especially if you get a lot of spam mixed with important mails that you have to sort out page after page. I allocate a few hours a week just to tackle this problem as I hate a messy and cluttered inbox. Not to mention standing to accidentally delete important mails by mistake.
