Dropbox is quite a good backup site. It syncs with the dropbox folder on your computer continuously. They offer 2 GB of space for free and higher space can be purchased for a monthly fee. The cool thing about them is they also support mobile devices quite well.

Nowadays, online storage is big. More and more sites are coming up that let you save your files online. Of course, the storage space isn't as big as conventional methods. But that should change with time as it gets more popular.

Till then,

Backing up data is something thats so easy to neglect but something that can save you a massive amount of time and stress - it should be done weekly at least!

It's best to use a backup program that doesn't try to back up files that haven't changed since the last backup. Try Karen's Replicator - it's open source, free, easy to set up and works. I have it running every night on a flash drive and a network drive, a few minutes before I leave work.

I do a decent job of backing up my files. I do have an extra hard drive, and I do have a back up for all the software I use, etc small things like that. But what I don't back up often are things like files, etc which are more important.
