Week end Review and Cool Site Recommendation

This week was quite productive on the Johnny Optimist front.  We got a lot of things done on each of the blogs, got some new projects rolling, and are set up pretty nicely for next week.

First, the Cool Site Recommendation:

I have been reading SuperAffiliate for a coule weeks now, and Kit (the owner) explains things in a very easy to follow way.  He teaches his readers how to succeed on the internet and how to do affiliate marketing.  He has a 7 day program all spelled out for you.  I recently sent him an email and said I probably wouldn’t have started one of my sites had I seen how good his was first.  So check out his site – www.SuperAffiliate.com

Week End Review:

From Pink Slip - Taught readers how to create a section w/in a section (subsection) on CafePress.  Also made a post about the new Marketplace tax CafePress will impose.  Seeing as we have the privilege of using their internal search mechanism (the marketplace), they will now be collecting the bulk of the commissions.  From my calculations this will decrease my commission revenue from 60% – 80% keeping everything else equal.  OUCH!  At this point I have taught readers how to get to a pretty good spot in terms of filling their shop and actually getting designs in there, so this could be the stopping point in that project and we might move on to another POD.  Since being able to actually make money on CafePress will now come down to marketing and only marketing, it might make sense to move on and help the readers start with other POD’s so they can cast a wider net.  I am going to discuss this with my Mastermind Group this weekend and hopefully work through some ideas.    I also created a post on BloggersBase about this new marketplace change they have planned, check it out.

Blogmaster General – Everyone’s favorite little bird was covered – Twitter.  I showed people how to set up a Twitter account.  This is just the very basics.  Follow me on Twitter – @JohnnyOptimist if you haven’t already.  I have just reached the 100 followers milestone and am now poised to overtake Ashton Kusher and CNN in terms of the number of followers I have.  If you didn’t catch that bit of news, those two were racing to see who could get to 1 million followers first.  Ashton won.  Frankly I think he is more engaging than CNN. 

Mitchendise - I finally was able to finish the content of my first project, and created the pdf of the book.  I showed my readers how to make a PDF of their book and get it ready for uploading.  I also made available the PDF of the content of the book I was working on.  I have that available here for free for all my readers.  This is the first book I will be uploading to CafePress (and maybe others), but for you my good friends, you can read it for free.

Click Into Action – Very busy here.  We are creating a brand by researching and writing about Bernie Madoff since his sentencing will be on June 16 and he will hit the news again.  This way we will have 2 months of fresh content to offer the search engines by the time they sentence him.  This could give us great search rankings.  I also have a plan for all of my readers on that one (I can’t give it away or others will steal the idea first).  You will have to wait and see. 

Johnny Optimist – you can see I have been quite busy this week – as always.  Hopefully I will be able to complete a couple of projects here this weekend and be able to discuss them next week.
